UAC on Windows 10 - Best practices RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

I've just installed Windows 10 on my work machine and I'm trying to configure UAC in a better way to let local admins use the machines.

I have set the UAC to the lowest level and even so, we can't do some things on the system. Ex.: If we copy a portable app to C:\Program Files (x86) folder, it says it can't run from a "Read-only" folder.

Trying to workaround that, I've configured, in secpol.msc, to disable the group policy "Run all admins in Approval mode" (sorry if this is not the correct translation. My system is in PT-BR). It worked fine, but then when I tried to open Microsoft Edge it says that it can't run like an intern admin...

So I need ideas of the best practice to configure UAC on a domain environment when a user needs full permissions on the machine.
