Domain change for platform RRS feed

  • General discussion

  • I'd like opinions on the following scenario.

A SharePoint/Project Server 2013 deployment in DomainA is up and running. PWA does not contain timesheets and resources do not register actuals for tasks; PMs are responsible for project updates. Project workflows are in place. Project sites are in use and contain lots of documents, risks, issues and some custom fields (no workflows).

Now the client needs to upgrade the farm to 2016 BUT DomainA is to be deleted and the platform should run in DomainB.

DomainA and DomainB have trust enabled but they are completely different, they do not belong to the same forest.

Yes, we can create the second farm and manually move all the content, or we can use a third party software to do the transfer, but, using native tools like SQL, Powershell, etc. is it possible to migrate the original farm, delete DomainA and still be on a supported state?
