Nice easy one - How do i create a hammock (level of effort) in Project 2003 RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

I'm used to using Primavera and creating a hammock activity was simple.  Change the activity type, link the start of the hammock as a SS pred on the start milestone, a FF successor on the finish milestone, bunch of sequenced activities in the middle.  Every time the work slips (or comes in !) the finish milestone slips and thus so does the hammock finish date.

Doesnt seem to work in project and the knowledge base file i found did not work - i either get an OLE error message, or if i try to change the hammock activity a message saying "this field is dynamically linke"

    Any suggestions appreciated

    Thanks

  • This reads like a Summary Task in Project. Otherwise the link John gave you does the trick.

    It did, didn't it!

however, we don't want people assigning resources at the summary level as they won't show up in a report we produce via numerous chunks of code and witchery.

    Thanks all
