Powershell script to automate and run Update-StorageGroupCopy asynchronously for CCR with multiple SG ? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi People,

Does anyone know how to do the scripting for the following command:

    • Suspend-StorageGroupCopy

      Update-StorageGroupCopy

      Resume-StorageGroupCopy

Because I’m doing it one by one manually through the Exchange Management console, when it should be done with something like this:

While the Exchange Server backup is NOT running

    For all Storage Group, Suspend-StorageGroupCopy

Perform Update-StorageGroupCopy for all Storage Group maximum two at once (otherwise it could fail for some reason, so it must wait after the first two finished then continue on the next two until all SG updated)

When all of the above are finished perform Resume-StorageGroupCopy.

  • This might work, although I do not have a 2007 CCR cluster to confirm this with:

    • get-storagegroup | suspend-storagegroupcopy
    • get-storagegroup | update-storagegroupcopy
    • get-storagegroup | resume-storagegroupcopy

This commands may need to be tweaked.  See here as well - http://exchangemaster.wordpress.com/tag/ccr/
