Windows server 2008 Version with SCDPM 2010 RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have to install SCDPM on one of my site. I am planning to assign storage pool of 80TB to the DPM server. Which version of server 2008 R2 should i use(standard/Enterprise).

Can I assign 80 TB Lun on server 2008 R2.

    I need to backup Exchange 2010 DAG & SQL 2008 SP1 Cluster

    Please advise.

    Regards

  • Hi,

Either edition will work fine for protecting those workloads - if you had very large (multi-TB File data) volumes you needed to protect, then Enterprise edition would perhaps be the better choice since it supports more physical memory.

Yes - You can assign 80TB total storage to the DPM storage pool, but DPM recommends the maximum LUN size be limited to 17TB. So basically carve out six ~13TB LUNS - convert them to GPT disk, then add them to the storage pool.
