  • Hi - I have a number of folders that are are sometimes empty. Is there a way to have these displayed in a different color, and then when they have somthing in them to change back to Windows default yellow?

    cheers, Nigel

It seems that you need third party tools to achieve this. Thank you for your understanding.

  • If you change the view of the containing folder to tiles, content, or medium, large or extra-large icons, "live" folder icons are used - see the image below (btw - I'm not a huge fan of some Windows defaults, hence the blue folders). If this is not enough, you can do what you ask with icon programs such as Iconpackager.

  • Thanks mystifeid, that's okay in thumbnail view, I'm hoping for a solution for a details or list view, the main reason I want to do this is for my business tax folders
