  • Question

  • I get the following error when trying to install Microsoft Exchange Server 2007 Standard on Windows Server 2003;
    Could somebody please advise on what processor is needed? It's running a dual core, not sure which 1 but it is 64bit compatable.

  • Have you actually installed the 64bit version of Windows 2003? If you have then download the 64bit version of Exchange (the 32bit version is for lab testing only anyway) and install it. If you haven't installed the 64bit version of Windows (you can check by right clicking My Computer and selecting properties) then format your box and install the 64bit version.

  • You can also run some tools to find if the processor installed on the server is actually 64 bit ?

  • You most certainly can. There's every chance someone has installed 32bit Windows onto a 64bit capable box. Happens all the time.
