  You should use SharePoint designer for changing anything concerning Layout.. Check this site for managing properties on a page: http://techtrainingnotes.blogspot.com/2011/01/sharepoint-2010-site-title-and-icon.html

  Hi,

  Open the page in sharepoint designer and select the icon you want to modify in split mode under design part.

  Then in the code part you will get the properties of it selected you can modify that as per your requirement.
