ActiveX Installer and Indexing Service in Windows Features RRS feed

    I have 2 questions about Vista. When I go to remove or add Windows features via add and remove programs>windows features, I see Indexing Service and Active X Installer Service

    I don't understand; I thought Indexing Service was alraedy on by default.

    I thought you could click "yes, install Active X Control" when one comes up in IE

    Indexing Service is ticked off and I never touched the features.

    But indexing service is still on even though it's ticked offf

    Vista comes with Indexing Service ticked off  in features, but Indexing on?

    What is Active X Control AS a service?
