pxe ris and iso RRS feed

  • Question

  • Bill, I'm interested in how you guys are booting those iso's from ris, can you post a copy of your sif files and what the template folders look like.  are you also having to extract the bootfile from the iso or cd and does that become the bootloader file?  you can email at fred.f.rodriguez@faa.gov i get my iso images to load from the ramdisk, but when finished i get other errors like txtsetup.sif missing, but it shouldn't require that.

  • Hi,

I suggest referring to the following article:

Now RIS is replaced by WDS. Using WDS, we can also deploy Windows Vista/7/2008 systems. And it has many advantages over RIS.

  • We are currently using RIS/WDS, but would like to pxe boot to other utilities like memtest, dell diag, dban, and etc.  I am able to pxe boot into winpe using ris now.  This was done using win pe 2005.  We are going to use WDS to deploy Windows 7.  If anyone has examples or they actually can pxe boot utilities like i have described, can you send me a email.

    Thanks,
