  • Hi keerthi,

From the error message, we can know that the wizard tried to add a site collection. However, users cannot be found while adding site collection. The users mentioned here are the site collection owner and the secondary site collection owner.

Actually, SharePoint uses Win32 API to retrieve a user's SID to check if the user is existing. In this case, it seems the user is not existing in the Active Directory(AD), or the computer cannot access the Domain Controller(DC), that caused the validation to be failure.

To fix the issue, please make sure the user is existing in the AD. The computer has access to the DC.

    Thanks,

  • A little late but anyway: I encountered same problem and the reason was simple: my computer was not connected to domain at the time of installation (development laptop).  User error hits because the installer could verify the logon user from AD.
