SharePoint Column Blank and Duplicate Entries (Append Changes/Versioning) RRS feed

  • I have a SharePoint list with versioning turned on, and a column called "status" in that list of type rich text with "append changes to existing text" set to yes.  If the user makes an update to that list item, but does not edit the "status' column, SharePoint will either append a blank input or duplicate the previous input.

    I found some info online as how to prevent the blank entries, but I can't determine how to  prevent SharePoint from duplicating the previous input in the status column.  Any ideas?

    I tried to reproduce this issue for the duplicated previous input, but it worked normally as expected.
    Did this issue happened all the time with manually input?
    Did someone restore the previous version via the version history?
    Could you reproduce it in a new list?
    Try to iisreset and check again.
