    Hello everybody,

    maybe a stupid question, but i stumbled upon it and i need a solution for it:

    Is it possible to prevent SCOM from triggering a notification when modifiying an alert? I want to create a command notification which updates the alert history with the recipients of a normal SMTP notification. Anytime i update the alert with the update method of the alert class, a new notification is triggered.

    I found a comment from Alex Zuravlev in this post (http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en/operationsmanagergeneral/thread/e4ff8d78-9649-492a-818b-853efadf6c85), that this is by design. Is there anyway to prevent this behaviour?

    I'm not aware of a fix...  I can't seem to look at the connect posting either right now: site error.

    Hi Marco,

    thanks for this link. When i understand this right, there is really no way to prevent a notification channel trigger when i update an alert with the Update() method.

    Is there another way to update the alert history with information about recipients, when an alert notification via email is sent?
