usbperf error after installing Forefront client RRS feed

  • Question

  • I do not know if it is just me or it is a wide spread issue.

After installing forefront client security on vista, the event log will log a usbperf error (event id 2004) every 8 mins.

Is this a known problem and is there anyway to get rid of the error?

    Cheers

  • Could you post some additional details (the body of the event would be good)?

    Thanks

  • I searched around online and found a few online forums that discuss this error, but no solutions.  From what I can determine, this doesn't look to be an FCS related error, but I'll keep looking and see if I find something

    Thanks

  • Initially, I did not suspect it is related to FCS. I was very frustrated of this error and wanted to get rid of it.

I did a clean install of Vista again and it went away for a while. But immediately after I install the FCS clent, it appeared again.

I checked with my fellow colleague who has FCS installed and they all have the same error every 8 mins.

  • Unfortunately no. For now we just ignore it.

BTW are you able to comfirm that it is cause by Forefront client?

    Cheers

  • Hello

I did some checks into this and it's definitely being reported by users who do not have FCS v1.  At this time, there is no published ETA for a fix/update

    Thanks

  • Hello!

This may be something that is addressed by Vista SP1.  We definitely haven't been able to tie this to something that FCS v1 is causing (at least directly)

    Thanks
