Lost network administrator permissions RRS feed

  • Question

  • My network administrator account was accidentally moved into a new OU, it was then moved back to it's original OU. Now the account doesn't have any of the original administrator permissions as before. Is there a way to reset this account without reinstalling Essentials 2012 r2?

  • Hi,

In general, move user account from one OU to another will not affect the user account propertied and basic permissions. GPOs which were applied to this account(previous OU related) would be no longer work. New GPOs if any related the new OU will be applied to the user account after moving it to the new OU.

After moving the account back to its original OU, run “GPUpdate.exe /force” and confirm that whether it will work.

Besides, restore the system via available system state backup will be helpful to undo the change.
