DPM 2012 VM With Differencing Disk Recovery RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

I've backed up a VM that's part of a Windows Server 2012 Hyper-V cluster using DPM and I'm encountering an issue while trying to restore it.

Is there any way to properly restore a VM that's based on a differencing disk that's in use to it's original location? It seems that we cannot exclude the recovery of the parent disk, which fails the recovery job. It would be nice to exclude the parent disk from the restore and allow it to re-link with the one that's already there.

    Mathieu
