You could start with the information on the following websites;
http://www.gmayor.com/ExtractDataFromForms.htm
or
http://gregmaxey.mvps.org/Extract_Form_Data.htm
But the could well be better ways of doing what you want that involve the use of User Forms
See the article "How to create a Userform" at:
http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/Userforms/CreateAUserForm.htm
and the following pages of Greg Maxey's website :
http://gregmaxey.mvps.org/Create_and_employ_a_UserForm.htm
http://gregmaxey.mvps.org/Populate_UserForm_ListBox.htm
-- Hope this helps.

I use MS Word, and with it have created hundreds of forms for the Group Home I work for in Ontario. I would like information I have entered into text fields in, say "word1.doc" to automatically show up in another form, say, "word2.doc".
In other words, if into a text field in "word1doc" (which is specific to an individual child on a specific day) I enter "Bobby was a good boy", I would like that information to to flow automatically into a text field in "word2.doc"
which is NOT specific to a child but is a general report of ALL children on a specific day (that day being represented by "word1.doc").
So, I guess what I am asking is: are word documents able to extract information from other word documents, and, if they are, how do I do it?
Regards,
Ken
