Office365 and Skype for Business Licensing RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello everyone,

Could anyone please refer me to an article or explain to me what I need to know regarding Lync Server 2013 on-prem to Skype for Business license upgrade and O365 CALS?

We have Software Assurance with Lync Server 2013, and would like to upgrade when S4B becomes available. What do I need to know?

    Thank you for any information.

Answers

  • If you have current software assurance on your Lync 2013 Server licensing, you will automatically have rights to Skype for Business Server when it is released.

With regards to Office 365, Lync Online subscribers, will automatically be upgraded to Skype for Business. The client will start being rolled out as part of Office 365 from April 14.
