We are using sql 2008r2 (sp2) Enterprise edition, mirroring has to be configured as per the requirement but after checking the database properties & tasks- mirror it is known that this feature is not available in this instance. first why this option is not in this instance, second can we have any option to bring this feature back.
Please share your view on this.

Do you see any error when you are trying to click on Mirroring on database properties page.Please paste if any error or message you are getting
You could also use TSQL method to configure mirroirng.

When you install SQL Server, did you select Management Tools - Complete in the Feature select page? The following thread is about same issue caused by the Management Tools, you can also try to connect to SQL Server instance with other SSMS to check whether the issue presits.
What's more, We cannot mirror the master, msdb, temp, or model databases. Database mirroring cannot be configured for a database that contains FILESTREAM filegroups.
