Vista not recognising surround speakers RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi, I have a 5.1 surround set up with a Sound Blaster Audigy. The driver version is, otherwise known as the generic Soundblaster Audigy Webupdate 2 which covers the Audigy and Audigy Platinum range. When I go into Creative set up I can choose to select 5.1, and then I tick for it to synchronise with Control Panel, but when I go into Windows sound and configure the speakers, it only lets me tick front speakers, not surround. I'm kind of guesssing it's a driver incompatibility (I was using the same driver on XP), but thought I would post just in case this is a known issue or someone has worked out a fix.

Thanks for any help you can give me.
