Not able to delete a user profile in IE10 RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi all,

I am using Win 8 and am connected to a domain .

Problem : Few days back I shared my screen through Lync 2013 and my colleague logged into a tool that we use by following ->IE- run as a different user with his credentials. Now whenever I try to login to that tool , it opens with my colleague's profile . I tried the following :

    1. Deleting cache , cookies , password .....etc

    2. Run IE as different user input my credentials

3.IE advance settings , reset all IE settings

4.Log out of tool and try login again

    5.Turn off windows feature ie10 , restart , turn on , restart

    6. Looked for any profile created of my profile in registry - Local user machine-sftwr--windows nt--profile . Couldn't find his profile

All the above steps failed. A simple issue has now become unsolvable . I installed Google chrome and it works fine there . Surely some issue with IE not letting go that profile . All other tools and sites are working fine for me. I cannot use chrome as we are not allowed to and have uninstalled it .

    Please assist .

    Regards,

    Manish

  • Hi Manish,

As I known, if we enable IE tool in current user account, and use the same user account to log on this computer, the tool is carried on.

Besides, user profile created using default local profile When New User Logs on in domain environment.

I would like to suggest you contact the domain administrator to delete and create a new roaming profile with the same name to check the result.

You may create a new User Account and check if you experience the same issue.

If the issue doesn’t persist with the new user account, then we need to fix the corrupted user account. Refer to the following article to do the same:

I would like to suggest you reset Internet Explorer settings to see the results.

I also suspect Group Policy is causing the problem. If this issue occurs on all the users, this can be a Group Policy issue. I recommend you initial a new thread in our Windows Server-Group Policy Forum for further assistance.

  • Thanks for your help here . Luckily it got resolved few days back . My colleague got released from the project and hence his alias was deactivated in the domain . That helped me login with my credentials as his default credentials were not valid any more :) .
