Server for cyber cafe RRS feed

  • General discussion

  • What type of hardware and server software is needed for a cyber cafe?  Want to get a small cyber cafe (with 10 seats) going and I want to create a small cheap server.  Any help will be appreciated.  Thanks.

  • for anyone to really answer that question properly, the most important information needed from you are the business requirements.  Cheap and 10 seats is a good start, however, you need to think about reliability, security, bandwidth, etc...

If you do some additional research on the internet, you'll probably find some "turnkey" solutions out there already.  In any event, a unix based system will gernally be less costly just when considering licensing.  However, there are other soft costs that need to be taken in consideration.  Its really hard to say at this point based on your description.

  • Hi,

As JM mentioned, it’s really depends.

By the way, I think you may try to perform the further research in cyber café related forum so that you can get the most qualified pool of respondents. Thanks for your understanding.

Note: With keywords cyber café in search engine you will get lots of results.

    Best Regards,
