Security permissions

Question
-
I got a windows 10 user, i am unable to access the admin shared folder. localaccesstokenfilterpolicy in registry is okay. admin shared folder is shared.
But i notice everytime i share a folder and set administrator account on the security permissions, it got applied. But the moment i close and check back the settings of the shared folders the permissions that was applied is gone.
it's like the security settings does not stick.
Why is this happening? any ideas how to reset the default permissions of windows 10?

Hi
Have you also follow the steps to enable administrative shares
And if you need to reset all security permissions to default. On windows 7, we could use commands secedit /configure /cfg %windir%\inf\defltbase.inf /db defltbase.sdb /verbose. For windows 10, I suggest you may need to confirm in Our windows 10 forum, whether it still supports or not.

I haven't come into conclusion for this issue but I got a hint that it could be the docking station that is connected to the laptop that gives problem.
There was a time when I had a change to use the laptop without the docking station it seems that everything was working fine, but it was for a while only. The laptop is used constantly so really don't have a time to check thoroughly.

Hi Mary,
Thanks for the links, yes the admin share is enabled.
I haven't got the change to restore the security settings. I'll update once i have done it but hopefully i can solve it without formatting.
