Unable to disable network password. RRS feed

  • Hi! I have two Window's 7 computers hooked up via a crossover cable. I am trying to let them share each other's drive through a network but every time I try Window's asks me to enter a username and password. I tried setting the "Disable Password for sharing" on the Network Control Panel. But every time I try changing it, it reverts back to "Enable password sharing". How can I change this?

  • Hi,

    Is these two PC have similar problem? What's the type your current user? Standard user or Administrator user?

    Is there any error message when applying the Network sharing settings?

    Are these thress group below have same setting?

    Private(current profile)

    Guest or Public

    All Networks
