Old registry entries pointing to old MP RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hey guys,

I've got an issue that has been affecting SOME of my SCCM clients. Basically, some of the clients look to the MP for the old SCCM 2007 site (Elektra), when they should be registering against the new SCCM 2012 site (Schlaf). They then go inactive.

Here is an example LocationServices.log from one of my inactive clients:

    The MP name retrieved is 'schlaf.domain.local' with version '7804' and capabilities '<Capabilities SchemaVersion="1.0"><Property Name="SSL" Version="1"/><Property Name="SSLState" Value="63"/></Capabilities>' LocationServices 2/13/2014 3:27:26 PM 2444 (0x098C)
    MP 'schlaf.domain.local' is compatible LocationServices 2/13/2014 3:27:26 PM 2444 (0x098C)
Refreshed security settings over AD LocationServices 2/13/2014 3:27:26 PM 2444 (0x098C)
No security settings update detected. LocationServices 2/13/2014 3:27:26 PM 2444 (0x098C)
Retrieved lookup MP [ELEKTRA] from Registry LocationServices 2/13/2014 3:27:26 PM 5932 (0x172C)
Attempting to retrieve lookup MP(s) from AD LocationServices 2/13/2014 3:27:26 PM 5932 (0x172C)
Lookup Management Points from AD: LocationServices 2/13/2014 3:27:26 PM 5932 (0x172C)
    Name: 'schlaf.domain.local' HTTPS: 'Y' ForestTrust: 'N' LocationServices 2/13/2014 3:27:26 PM 5932 (0x172C)
    Retrieved lookup MP(s) from AD LocationServices 2/13/2014 3:27:26 PM 5932 (0x172C)
Attempting to retrieve default management points from lookup MP(s) via HTTPS LocationServices 2/13/2014 3:27:26 PM 5932 (0x172C)
Current AD site of machine is Default-First-Site-Name LocationServices 2/13/2014 3:27:26 PM 5932 (0x172C)
Failed to send management point list Location Request Message to ELEKTRA LocationServices 2/13/2014 3:27:29 PM 5932 (0x172C)
    Executing Task LSSiteRoleCycleTask LocationServices 2/13/2014 3:27:29 PM 2864 (0x0B30)
Current AD site of machine is Default-First-Site-Name LocationServices 2/13/2014 3:27:29 PM 5932 (0x172C)

Anyone have any ideas about where I can find this registry entry the logs refer to? Could this be my problem?

    Thanks,

  • Do you have overlapping boundaries?

    Cheers

  • No,  I don't.

All of my boundaries are defined as separate subnets. There are no supernets. I don't see anything overlapping.

  • What exactly do you have defined for Boundaries in both CM07 and CM12?
