My Windows 7 Icon bar has disappeared! RRS feed

  • Hey,

    I turned my Acer Aspire 5742 laptop on, it's working all fine it's just that my Icon Bar has disappeared eg. Network icon, Battery icon ect. How can I get them back?

    To set the icons in notification area, please try the following:


    1. Right-click an empty area on the taskbar, and then click Properties.

    2. Under Notification area, click Customize.

    3. Click Turn system icons on or off.

    4. For each system icon, click On in the list to show the icon in the notification area, or click Off to completely remove the icon from the notification area.

    5. Click OK, and then click OK again.

  • In the bottom right corner next to the clock click the up arrow and choose customize. From here you can change the behavior of your icons. You can also click Turn System Icons on or off. This will allow you to turn off your network icon, battery icon, etc. You should be able to turn those back on and they will show up in your system tray again.

  • Hi,

    You can also click the up arrow icon next to the time, and drag - drop the notifications you don't want to be hidden to the systray.
