  • Question

  • Hi,

i used to had a pop accout for a given email...  i created an imap FOR THE SAME email, copied all my emails to the imap hoping i could get rid of the POP email i am not using anymore.  i did file, account settings, account settings, datafiles, click on the pop accout and delete...  this message appear : "this email files is asssociated with a mail account.  to remove it use the email tab."  i then delete the POP, but it still appears in the tree as you can see in the attache picture.

i also can copy the calender contacts...  (circled in yellow)  to my IMAP

how can i fix this?  (the pop and the imap are for the same email address

  • #1 - Suggest you do all this from the Mail applet in Control Panel with Outlook closed. Location of the Mail applet in Control Panel will depend on the OS in use

#2 - Start the applet --> email accounts and make sure that the POP3 account is not your default email account

#3 - highlight the POP3 account and take note of the PST file to which things were being delivered

#4 - remove the email account

#5 - goto the Data files tab and remove the PST file from step #3

Close the applet - start Outlook and you should be good to go
