Please try the following troubleshooting steps:
1. Use another computer test if there is the same issue.
2. Please try to delete Lync cache files and make sure Lync 2013 client with the latest update.( %userprofile%\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Office\15.0\Lync\sip_UserName@Domain.com)
3. Try to repair office then test again.
4. Because this issue appeared on the specific user, please try to compare user attributes in AD between the affected user and other normal users.
