diagnostic and recovery? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi All,

I am trying to monitor some system resources on a machine and I would like to output a list of the top procs when my high cpu threshold is reached. I see that there is an included TopCPUUsage.vbs task that is included, but I don't know how to associate it with a monitor and receive the output via and alert (email, etc)

Could someone help with this? I wonder if it requires modifying the included script to generate the alert? or do I have to include the method for alerting (email, etc) in the script itself? I would think there would be a simple hook to call to get an alert generated with the output from the script, but I am not too familiar with MOM yet.

All help or direction is much appreciated!

    Tim

  • Hi Tim,

Here is a similar thread that may help you:

I think there's no need to modify the vbs files. Instead, you can just configure the monitors and notifications to meet the requirement.

    Hope it helps.

  • Take a look at this post and let us know if this meets your need. I created a sample MP to dump top procs whenever CPU and memory thresholds are breached.
