SP2007 Site Export Error: The Web application could not be found. Verify that you have typed the URL correctly. RRS feed

  • Question

  • Dear All,

We've a public facing based on SharePoint 2007. I want to take an export of that site. I tried with the following stsadm command.

    stsadm.exe -o export -url http://ntlm.mysite.com -filename C:\Backup\mysite.cmp

    But, it throws following message

The Web application at http://ntlm.mysite.com could not be found. Verify that you have typed the URL correctly. If the URL should be serving existing content, the system administrator may need to add a new request URL mapping to the intended application.

I've checked the URL and also opened it. All is fine. The site is FBA based. I don't where i'm going wrong.

    Please help

    Thanks

Answers

  • Hi,

    1. Please use domain administrator to run this command.

    2. Please use internal URL like http://servername:port as an alternative to give a try.

    Thanks,
