SFB screensharing (Catalina) only shows desktop background RRS feed

  • Question

  • I'm on SFB 16.28.120 and I'm able to share any of the two external monitors and my laptop screen, but it ONLY shares the desktop background, not any of the open windows (except for the Skype Window).

  • Hi PERRYPATRICK,

Do you mean only Skype for Business Window can’t be shared?

Does anyone else have the same issue?

What operation do you do before this problem appearing?

It is suggested to follow the steps as below to clear client cache and check if it helps:

1.In Windows Explorer, type in: %localappdata%\Microsoft\Office\1x.0\Lync\ folder

    2.Delete the sip profile folder.

3.Go into the Tracing folder, delete all files, but not the folder.

Besides, there are some requirements for sharing screen in Skype for Business. For more details, please refer to the following link:

  • Hi DaveThommo,

You can clear the cache on Mac as below:

1.Log out and quit Skype for Business.

    2.Go to Finder > press Command+Shift+G > type in /users/<MacUsername>/library > delete the following files: Containers > com.microsoft.SkypeForBusiness. ...

3.Open Keychain Access from /Applications/Utilities folder.

4.Delete all keychains starting with Skype For Business.
