RADIUS failing to authenticate 802.1x clients after Windows Updates RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello,

After we ran our monthly patches last week, our RADIUS server stopped authenticating our secure wireless (Aruba). I googled and even asked on Aruba's forums but could not come up with an answer. When the client tries to connect to wireless, they aren't able to. When I check the RADIUS server i see "Audit Failure" logs stating "An internal error occurred. Check the system event log for additional information". I then check the system event log and there is nothing of use there.

I checked the cert we are using and it has not expired. Not sure what else to check. Any thoughts?

    Thanks in advance.

EDIT: Also forgot to mention that when I run a AAA authentication test from the Aruba, it successfully authenticates. Very odd.

  • Server 2008 R2 Enterprise

We already uninstalled all the updates from that date but the problem still exists.

So we could not determine that update is the cause. You could try to reset you wireless access point(Aurba).
