Windows Server 2008 - Not able to uninstall File Replicator Service

  • Hello,

    I am having an issue uninstalling a File Replicator Service program. At this point I can't repair, uninstall, re-install it. I tried 3rd party software, windows installer, and cmd. Nothing works. Have anybody ran into this issue before? My server is completely up to date with all updates.

    This is the error that I get when I try to uninstall it with Windows Installer:

    Error 1001. An exception occurred while uninstalling. This exception will be ignored and the uninstall will continue. However, the application might not be fully uninstalled after the uninstall is complete. --> The specific service does not exist as an installed service

    When I try to uninstall it using cmd this is the output that I get:

    Method execution successful.
    Out Parameters:
    instance of __PARAMETERS
    ReturnValue = 1603;

    I believe this is a fatal error in WMIC.

    At this point I am not really sure what needs to be done next to remove this crap of my Server. Pleas help.

  • Hi,

    From your description it seems that the purpose is to repair FRS (File Replication Service), so you could refer to the article below to troubleshoot FRS:

    If the issue still exists, please provide the detailed error message about File Replication Service.
