  • Hello Richa,

":Exception running sql string [NOT DEFINED]: Threw Exception.Type: System.Data.SqlClient.SqlException, Exception Error Code: 0x80131904, Exception.Message: A network-related or instance-specific error occurred while establishing a connection to SQL Server. The error above means that you have connectivity problems to your SCOM SQL Server, and this is most likely a firewall blocking the connection.

Please make sure to open the required firewall ports, you can view them over here:
Configuring a Firewall for Operations Manager

Also make sure that the account used to install the SCOM Web Console has sufficient rights in the SCOM SQL Server.

    Best regards,
    Leon

  • Hi Richa,

The above log says the server was not found or was not accessible. Please check the following information:

!. Ping SQL server and see if it available.

    2. Ping the SQL server FQDN and NetBiOS name and see if it can be resolved successfully. If not, check the DNS setting on the server.

    3. Use PortQry to test the SQL Server’s port connectivity. If it is the default one, it will be 1433.

    4. Verify that the instance name is correct (ie:SQL server/instance name) and that SQL Server is configured to allow remote connections.

    5.  Try to access SQL instance via SQL Server Management Studio to see if it is accessible.

    6. Try to install the web console using command in the following link to see if it is working.

    https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/system-center/scom/deploy-install-web-console?view=sc-om-2019

Please check the above steps and if any update, please let us know.

    Best regards.

    Crystal
