  • I am getting a rather large number of these DistributedCOM errors in the system's error logs.

Regedit search revealed that the "WebPlatStorageBrokerServer" is the AppID "{7966B4D8-4FDC-4126-A10B-39A3209AD251}"

I did find this post on another forum with a suggestion that the question be asked here...

    https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_10-performance-winpc/the-server-7966b4d8-4fdc-4126-a10b-39a3209ad251/d7c6c9b2-b761-499c-a767-2dacbcb50261

any suggestion as to what this may actually be?

    Thanks!

  • Hi,

According to my search, only the following link was found:

    https://uuid.pirate-server.com/7966b4d8-4fdc-4126-a10b-39a3209ad251

Is McAfee installed on your system?

  • That is a negative on McAfee, seems you found the same info I did....

    Additional info...

The file is  .dll - C:\Windows\System32\webplatstorageserver.dll it is located on other directories but this one seems to be the operative location. I'm still digging into this issue, any assist is greatly appreciated...
