Microsoft has stopped working message RRS feed

  • Question

  • I purchased Microsoft Professional Plus 2016 through my employer in 2016.  I installed it this summer for the first time.

I downloaded the software, set up Outlook and used it for a few weeks.  Now when I try to use Outlook, I received the following message:  "Microsoft has stopped working.  A problem caused this program to stop working correctly.  Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available."

I've never been notified that a solution is available after 4 days, so I reinstalled Microsoft Professional Plus 2016 today.  I continue to receive this error.  Might you be able to help me resolve this problem as I can't use Outlook?  Thanks

  • You might get "Microsoft Outlook has Stopped working" error when you start the Office 2016 or Office 2013 versions of Outlook. Firstly, you should make sure that your office is fully up-to-date. But if you are still facing this issue then I would suggest you to read this technical article.

The below is an article about troubleshooting the Microsoft Outlook has stopped working.

  • Hi,

Does this issue continue if we try to start Outlook in safe mode? To do this, press Windows key + R to open the Run command, type outlook /safe and press Enter.

What type of email account did you set up in your Outlook? Have you tried creating a new Outlook mail profile and then set the email in the new mail profile to see whether this issue continues. Besides, we can also have a test with another email account to see if you get the same result.

In addition, please also check whether there are any events logged in Event Viewer when this issue happens.
