Wireless authentication RRS feed

  • General discussion

  • We have a wireless network consisting of a Cisco wireless LAN controller with 5 access points connected.

    The WLC is connected to a RADIUS server (Windows Server 2008) for the authentication of domain users.

    We have two wireless networks in two different vlans. The intention is that if the domain users log on they will automatically appear on the internal network.

    We also have a group of domain users who should automatically connect on the other vlan (guest vlan)

    This does not work with the computer authentication setting. (if I use the settings of the wireless profile on ‘machine’)

    <OneX xmlns="http://www.microsoft.com/networking/OneX/v1">

                                                                   <EAPConfig><EapHostConfig xmlns="http://www.micr...

    It does workwiththeuser’authenticationsettings
    <OneX xmlns="http://www.microsoft.com/networking/OneX/v1">

                                                                   <EAPConfig><EapHostConfig xmlns="http://www.micr...

    The disadvantage is that if users log on for the first time onto a laptop they get the message that ‘no logon servers can be found’ and that user can therefore also not register.

    Users who do can log in don’t get their home folder as set in the AD.

    Is there a working setting that I need to do on the radius server or anywhere else on the server so that it would succeed?
