System SetUp 64&32bit RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hey there

First: Hardware -> HP dv 6745ez (ready for 64bit, drivers are present), one HDD

So i like to install vista 32bit, vista 64bit, win 7 & openSuse 11.1 on it.
Every system on another partition and 1 or 2 partition's for Data.

atm it's installed like that, but without the 64bit version.
To set it up with the 64bit version, i will complitely remove all systems and make new partition's.

    - Is there any problem to install 32bit and 64bit windows on the same HDD?
    - Did i have to install 64bit @ 2. system? ( first vista 32bit, 2. vista 64bit, 3. Win7 and last openSuse)
    - Is there any know'n problem for win7 and openSuse bootmanager to find the 64bit version?
    - Did i have to make the partitions befor SetUp the systems?

Thanks for any advice's about that!

  • It is allowed to install 32bit and 64bit windows Vista on two partitions on one HDD. Bootmanager of Windows 7 is likely the same as Windows Vista; therefore, if there is no problem in the previous Windows OS, I suppose that it should be OK with the new Win7.
