  • Ever install the pc hardware chipset software/driver...Intel is specific that it must be 1st driver/software to be

installed after the OS install...Plus,open NVidia control-panel,it has settings for multiple monitors..Go to:

    http://www.intel.com/support/downloads/browse/locate chipset software/edit the 3 tabs,locate 4970k

    Or use search in downloads

  • Hi,

I have a few things that need to confirm with you:

1.How do you connect the secondary monitor?

2.Did the primary monitor go black?

3.Can the primary monitor be detected? You can see the monitor by right click the desktop-Screen Resolution-Display

4.Did the issue happen after you update your system or installed some driver?

    5.What is your monitor model?

Here are some suggestions that you can follow:

1.If it is your first time that use dual display, you should do some configuration to make the monitor detected :https://www.dell.com/support/article/sg/en/sgdhs1/sln128740/how-to-setup-multiple-monitors-in-windows-7?lang=en

Please Note: Since the website isn’t hosted by Microsoft, the link may change without notice. Microsoft doesn’t guarantee the accuracy of this information.

2.If you recently update your system or driver, go to Device Manager to roll back the display driver.

If it still doesn't work, right click the display driver and uninstall device, including "delete the driver software for this device". Restart your computer and you'll have your default driver installed.

You can also disable the device by right click the Display adapters, then enable it.
