Re-assign an exchange 2010 mailbox to another user RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi All,

I have a disabled AD user with an exchange 2010 mailbox. I use the powershell "Disable-Mailbox -Identity “Full Username” and then use the EMC to connect the mailbox to another user account. I have changed the Alias.

Seems good with the mailbox properties show correctly. But i can not connect to the mailbox by outlook client or owa, is said th emailbox is disabled. and when i send email to the mailbox, also get 554-5.2.1 mailbox disabled.

Also when i check the disconnected mailbox list, the mailbox still how on the list.

    Any help?

    Thanks,
    Roy

  • Please run this command to Clean-MailboxDatabase “databasename".

DatabaseName - This is the database where disconnected mail box was located.
