anti spam outbound message with hub transport and edge transport in exchange 2010?

    Question

  • hi all,

    I had installed 1hub transport (HT) + 1 Edge Transport (ET). The ET server had enable anti spam.

    Inbound Message from the internet (external domain) send to Edge and here the anti spam can scan the message as well.

    => But the outbound message from the Exchange Organization (internal domain) to the internet is go through Hub only (it not go through HUB => EDGE => Internet), so i can scan outbound message with anti spam function.

    Help me to anti spam on outbound message from my Exchange Organization??

    1. Setup a edge subscription. All inbound/outbound will pass through edge.

    2. As you said

  • A typical on-premise email system will NOT scan outbound for spam.

    If you do need to do that, why not configure outbound mail pass through the edge?

    You mean create a send connector on my Hub forward message to Edge and then Edge Scan the message before send to the internet.

    yes i have already setup Edge, so i create an send connector on HUB forward message to Edge too.

    Message ==> Hub ==> Edge ==> Internet

    So this will make the mail flow is slower???

    In theory yes. Practically there's no difference.
