Send email to the manager when a user is created RRS feed

  • Question

  • i have installed fim 2010 rc1 and everything is working, i created some Management rule policies and they are also working to send mail notifications.

    i have acually two question:
First Question: what i'm trying to do is when a new users is created from the portal, i need a email notification to be send to his manager, how can i do that? i know i have to create a workflow and MPR which i did but i think i'm missing something it this case.

Second Question: i have downloaded one of the FIM ScriptBox content and when i run the HTA it give me this message: You are running your HTA in 32bit mode... and the strange thing is i'm running it on a 64bit windows server 2008.. what is the problem?

  • Hi Eihab!

Create an action workflow with a Notification Activity, set the Recipient to "[//Target/Manager]" and an email template for example the default "Mail listener response: Add member response " to the Notification activity. Create an MPR with Create as Operation, for example "All People" as Requestors, "All People" as Target resource after and finally map your workflow as action workflow on the MPR.

You should run the 64-bit version of Internet Explrer.

Close :-) - you should associate the HTA file with the 64bit mshta.exe.
You can find more details on this in the FIM ScriptBox Read Me First.
