Can't ping Server, but Server can ping us

    Question

  • Hi everyone, I recently set up a new site. Once everything was up and running, we made sure we could remote onto the server from our main office. Once we made sure everything was okay, we left. The next day however, when we tried remoting onto the server, it would just time out. We can't even remote onto the desktops over there or ping them. However, if we teamview on, the machines there can ping us and can even remote ono the servers. This isn't a firewall issue on our end as we have checked. Does anyone have any idea as to why this is happening? And yes they are on different subnets.

  • Mostly this kind of issue will occur only because of firewall, so agian cross-verify the same and check the hops for network traffic. Also check the windows firewall, if it is enabled then create necessary rule to allow ping and RDP
