Installing DPM2010 on Cluster Node RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

I read on technet that DPM2010 Server shouldnt be installed on Cluster Node.

But in my scenario i just have two physical servers on one of the branch office and both are running windows 2008r2 ent full edition and they are member of hyperv cluster.

Can i install DPM2010 on one of the HyperV Failover Cluster Node?

Is it not recommended to install DPM2010 on cluster node / we can't install it at all?

    Regards,

    Maqsood

  • Hello,

No, you can not install DPM on a cluster.

    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ff399021.aspx

DPM is designed to be run on a dedicated, single-purpose computer. The DPM server is not supported on any of the following:

    • A computer on which the Application Server role is installed

    • A computer that is a System Center Operations Manager management server

    • A computer on which Microsoft Exchange Server is running

    • A computer that is a node of a cluster

      Thanks
