Track Changes in a Team of users RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello!

I work at a large firm of Solicitors and one team in particular want to use track changes in a team environment. Basically, they want to be able to use Word essentially as one user, so that their track changes would be one colour when whomever would work on a particular document. For instance, say when a large document comes in for them to work on for the very first time, they want the first colour for them to be RED and when the document is then sent back to the client, and then edited by said client, they want the next round of changes to be BLUE. Now, I understand that Word will do this automatically dependent on the reviewer and the date of edits. What I am asking is, if there is a way to allocate a colour to a reviewer of the document and for it to stay as that? I.e any changes we make on the 3rd round of changes to the document would still appear RED and not GREEN?

I have changed the username to the exactly the same on each of these user's Word installations, but the colours do change. I do have By author selected in the advanced option screen in track changes and have tried other options, nothing seems to offer want they want.

Does anyone have any ideas? Or am I just asking Track Changes to work in a way it was never intended?

    Thanks!
