get-content command problems RRS feed

  • Question

  • I can only use the Get-Content cmdlet to read two types of files.  These are .txt and .rtf files.  Anything else returns a fatal error that outputs whole pages of Chinese and shuts down the shell.  Does anyone know how to read .doc, docx, and PDF files using get-content?

    Thanks.
