Costum Field formula RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

How is it possible to make a formula for a custom field that returns the following information:

I have to Select the Costum Field 0: n1»n2»n3»n4

    And Return:

    Costum Field 1: n3
    Costum Field 2: n4

I need the formula to the Costum Field 1 and Costum Field 2

    Thanks

  • Hi Ricardo,

    Can you be more explicit?

You want to display in a custom field (0) the values of other custom fields (1, 2,...)?

Plesae give us more detail so we can help you.

    Hope this helps,

  • Hi Guillaume

    Thanks for answer

I Want to display on custom field 1 the n3 value selected in custom field 0 and on costum field 2 the n4 value selected in custom field 0.

    Example:

Value in Costum Field 0: n1»n2»n3»n4

Show in Costum Field 1:  n3

Show in Costum Field 2: n4

Custom Field 0 is a custon field texto associated to a lookup table.

When select a value in Costum Field 0, the value is in this format:  n1»n2»n3»n4.

The meaning of "»" is the table mask to separate the levels on the table.

    n1 represente level 1

    n2 = level 2 and so on...

  • I'm not a developer but as far as I can see, unless your n1, n2... values always contain 2 characters, it will be quite a complicated formula. Maybe John or Rod will jump in and help you out with some VBA code.

    Hope this helps,
