Frequent app crash RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

We developed a .net application to be running in user machines 24x7. We are facing so many application crashes in user machines due to several assemblies such as kernelbase.dll, ole32.dll, ntdll.dll, clr.dll etc.

We collected some event viewer logs which shows different fault addresses and modules. Is corrupted profile or .net framework could be an issue?

We couldn't figure out what would be the root cause for these application crashes. Any help on this would be appreciated.

    Thanks.

  • Hi,

the dlls you refer to are all windows builtin. They might be of a differnt version if running on another OS.

To see what actually goes wrong, you can collec dumpfiles of the crashing application using sysinternals procdump. verify the error locations in your code.

Other that that I only can advise to use proper coding methodologies so that you trap errors instead of lettign the application crash if something unexpected occurs.

if you need assistance in troubleshooting your code, I would advice posting to the msdn forums.
