Outlook 2013 and Windows 10

  • We are currently using the latest build of Office 2013 on Windows 10 Version 1511, Build 10586.763. Customers are reporting that when sending a new email message (from the pop out), that randomly the message form will not close. The message will send successfully, but the message window will not close and will only contain the recipients with a blank body. If you attempt to send another email message, upon the 2nd message sending, both messages will close properly.

Another issue being reported is that shared calendars will randomly not allow you to "check" the box next to them so that you can open them. You have to delete the shared box, from your Outlook, and go out to the GAL and "pull" in the shared mailbox again.

Logging back into Windows 7, none of these issues exist. Same addins are installed, same GPOs were moved over (as far as I am being told), same install options were used etc....only change is that it is now running on Win10 vice Win7.

  • Hi,

Please go to File > Account > About Outlook to collect the detailed Outlook version number.

Also try to run Outlook in safe mode to narrow down the issue: Press Win+R to open Run in Windows, type Outlook /safe, press Enter. Confirm if the email sending issue and Calendar issue can be reproduced in safe mode.

If there is no issue in safe mode, please go to File > Options > Add-ins, select Manage COM Add-ins, click GO. Uncheck to disable all COM add-ins, restart Outlook normally to confirm if the issue persists.

Any updates in your side, please feel free to post back.

Running in Safe Mode doesn't seem to help. The only 3rd party add-ons running are the antivirus email scanner (McAfee), Microsoft Consulting Services AGM Email Classification, and Adobe PDFMaker. However since it is a random/sporadic issueit is very difficult to isolate.
