Setting up a DP that has not yet been deployed to remote location

Question
-
What is the best way to setup and configure a DP prior to installing it at the remote site location?
I don't want to set it up and configure it while at the remote site away from my Site Server due to the slow WAN links being saturated.
Thanks

If your DP is physical or virtual ,you can install the DP role from the site, copy the prestage content to DP server and ship/move the server to remote location.
Once you are done with the content prestage (follow my previous post with links),you can create boundary and boundary group for content location request.

There is no other way except installing the DP Role from the Site server and installing DP role do not take much bandwidth .So in your case, you can install DP role on server ,monitor the logs for success status and you can do prestage content (several scripts avilable on the net how to prestage all the content) on the DP meaning, shipping the content to the remote location and do prestage .This way you can avoid the content flowing via WAN. more information can read https://technet.microsoft.com/en-in/library/hh692395.aspx?f=255&MSPPError=-2147217396 and http://blog.coretech.dk/kea/configuration-manager-2012-prestage-content-on-distribution-points/ and http://blogs.technet.com/b/configmgrdogs/archive/2015/03/11/different-scenarios-for-using-prestaged-content.aspx

Okay so should I have the Site Server install the DP at the HQ location where our datacenter is located, then deliver the DP to the remote site and then create my Content Location Boundary Group where all the SCCM client workstations located at the remote site can be assigned to to that boundary group?
Thanks
